About the project
The submissions season for the producers and staff of animation's highest honor once involved sorting through over a thousand hand-mailed packages. These contained thousands of jewel-cased DVDs and board-mounted artwork (with submission forms and checks rubber-banded to each). It was, as you might imagine, something of a nightmare to shuffle through this mountain of physical material throughout the show's very extensive nomination, voting and ceremony production processes.
Since joining the Annies team in 2010, Clearview has systematically brought each of these processes together in a single, unified online platform.
- Fully web-based award consideration submissions process, including: secure online payment; upload of video clips, music, storyboards and signoff forms; follow-up intake for ceremony and program book materials for nominated submissions.
- Automated video verification, storage, and transcoding, utilizing Vimeo API integration for high-quality, secure and familiar playback for fair judging and voting. All media submitted is secured against unauthorized download and piracy.
- Advanced studio dashboard, enabling studios with many moving parts (including Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks and Cartoon Network) to delegate submission tasks to multiple designated submitters and divide labor.
- Judging management, including: secure judging committee application and selection process; secure judging portal with high-quality material and submission review, shortlist, issue flagging, and discussion features; nomination selection and studio notification.
- Voting management, including voter application and selection processes and secure voting portal.
- Seamless integration with the organization's membership database for permissions verification.
- Extensive administration dashboard, including: tiered admin roles; studio and submission management; category rule verbiage and submission field management; payment, receipt, and transaction management; flexible 'sponsor credits' system for Annies sponsors; deadline management late fee rules and exceptions; numerous import/export tools
- Secure, triple-redundant data archival following each years' awards cycle.
- On-call support, including email support for submitters, judges and voters.
